Scaling Personalization Through Smart Design Technology
At Balfour, we faced a unique challenge. We needed to create customized graphics for thousands of high schools and colleges across the country, each with its own identity and community. Doing this manually would have required enormous design resources and time.
I saw an opportunity to rethink the problem through technology and partnership.
Working with Techbarn, we developed an app that allowed schools to generate their own branded social media graphics and email assets with just a few clicks. What once required a designer could now be created instantly by the schools themselves, giving them ownership over their communications while maintaining brand consistency.
The solution saved the company thousands of dollars in design costs and dramatically increased speed and flexibility. More importantly, it empowered schools to tell their own stories in a way that felt personal and immediate.
What began as an efficiency project became a scalable platform for creativity, proving that smart tools can unlock both savings and stronger connections at the same time.
